Lisbon: Analysis of Public Data Sources and Spatial Mapping

Context and Objectives
The overall objective of this project is to improve the understanding of social determinants of health, particularly those of a demographic, social, cultural, economic, environmental, climatic, and neighborhood nature, and their potential impact on cardiovascular health outcomes in urban populations – in this specific case, in the municipality of Lisbon.

The objectives of this project also include:

  1. Collecting and analyzing information on healthcare delivery, public health, and other sectors and determinants that influence health, in order to generate data and knowledge that can contribute to improving cardiovascular health in the population as well as reducing inequities;
  2. Developing advanced analyses with the aim of increasing knowledge in these thematic areas and highlighting how cities can contribute to the equitable improvement of population health, while simultaneously providing data and knowledge to support policymakers, health managers, providers, and users with decision-making tools.
