The Finisterra - Portuguese Journal of Geography publishes original texts dedicated to research in various aspects of Physical and Human Geography, Environmental Resources and Risks, Regional and Local Planning, Spatial Planning, Regional and Local Development, Geographic Information Systems, among other topics.

It publishes in Portuguese as well as in English, French, and Spanish. Published three times a year, it offers free and immediate access to its content, following the principle that making scientific knowledge freely available promotes greater democratization of knowledge, recognition, and visibility to Geography.
