The ReMonStar project has the following main objectives:

1. Implement a sensor network for the climatic and ecological characterisation of the Serra da Estrela;
2. Characterise local climatic conditions in the upper plateau and the largest glacial valley of the Serra da Estrela;
3. Understand how local and micro-scale climatic conditions influence biological activity, diversity, composition, and ecosystem functioning in the Serra da Estrela;
4. Assess the impact of climatic conditions on the recovery of burnt forests;
5. Characterise endogenous fungal and plant resources associated with mountain forests and explore their potential for sustainable tourism activities.
